Within 30 minutes after you sign up, you will receive registration confirmation by email. You must have a valid email address. Your registration will only be complete when you read and respond to the email as directed. DO NOT REPLY to the email.

We recommend you complete the course within 60-days after signing up. If you abandon your seat in the online course, you will be removed after 60 days and will need to start it over to earn a certificate. You sign up only once in a lifetime.

Step 1. Register for the course. This is done only once.

You must meet these conditions:

  • be directed to 13Class.com by your trustee or attorney. 13Class.com is not a public website. You must be sent to this site specifically to take the course offered here.
  • have an active Chapter 13 case, NOT Chapter 7.
  • provide your valid email address. This is how you will complete your registration and receive your certificate when you complete the course.
  • the Trustee Identifier Number you were given by your attorney or trustee's office. It is on the flyer they gave you about this site. It looks like TEN13XXX. You will need to input TEN13 and the 3 numbers you were given.
  • your Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Case Number. If this is not correct, we will not be able to file the certificate with the court when you complete the course. It should look like this: 21-12345. It has two digits for the year and 5 numbers (YY-XXXXX).
Sometimes your case number with have letters and initials attached to them. You may include them, just be certain you have the required numbers included.
  • your full name "exactly" as shown on your bankruptcy petition.
  • your Chapter 13 bankruptcy Schedules A/B, D, and E/F for Lesson 1 and Schedules I and J for Lesson 3. You can get copies of these Schedules from your attorney, or the Bankruptcy Clerk for a small fee.
  • only one person's name can appear on each certificate to be filed with the court. If your spouse is named on a Chapter 13 bankruptcy petition, they will need to register and take the course individually. They will need a separate valid email address. Spouses can use the same computer to take the course, but not at the same time.
  • Check your email for a link to use to confirm your registration. (We need to make sure your email address works.)

Now, review the Terms and Conditions, then Register for the course--Signup is at the bottom of the Main Menu.

Step 2. Everything Technical You MUST know before starting the course.

Everyone should look at the Course Requirements. You'll need speakers or headphones and your copy of your bankruptcy schedules.

Know YOUR DEVICE

Desktop or Laptop (recommended)

The course was developed for the horizontal format on a large scale.  A desktop or laptop is the best way to see the course as intended.

Chromebook Works well using built-in browser.

If you need to use F5 to refresh your learning path (list of lessons completed), click on reload, a circular arrow, at the top left of your browser window.

Tablet

iPad (recommended in horizontal format) Use the built-in browser (Safari). If you feel you missed something, use the menu or the previous button or arrow to repeat the silde. We'll be making tweaks to improve the course performance on iPads.

Surface Pro 3+   Works well using Google Chrome, Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge. Use in horizontal format.

Other tablets: May be possible, but unless they have a lot of RAM (at least 16G recommended) it could be very slow. Use the horizontal format.

Smartphone (NOT recommended). DO NOT USE.  If attempted, make sure you orient the device horizontally. The course was designed for larger screens and there are too many variables between phones for us to troubleshoot. If you have problems using a smartphone, Technical Support will not be able to recommend anything but to use one of the above devices.

Debtors have borrowed laptops and tablets. Public Libraries provide desktops for use for free. The course is not tied to a device. You can change devices daily if necessary. Walk up to any computer and use it for 20 minutes and complete a lesson. Use another the next day. Just don’t use a phone.

Know YOUR BROWSER

What browser?  Try any browser—We tested Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Safari, Vivaldi, and Firefox.

Click here for browser ID and update.  (Recommended) Update your browser routinely to ensure the latest security measures.

Use the built-in browser, Safari, for the best experience. If you experience problems, switch to Google Chrome.

Move on to Step 3.

Step 3. How to begin the course.

Do NOT skip Step 2 above. It will be the only way to prevent technical problems before starting the course.

  1. This course is for Chapter 13 cases only
  2. Once your computer is configured, begin the course by logging in at the bottom of the Main Menu with the username and password you created during registration. You can only do this AFTER you have followed instructions in the email that was sent to you 30 minutes after you submitted your registration.
  3. Login

    1. Then click on The Lessons in the main menu.
    2. Then click on a version of the course you want, usually EARN CERTIFICATE (English).
    3. If you see this message, "You are not enrolled in this course. If you're a student of this course and you see this message, it possibly means that your account has been suspended (or deleted) or your subscription has expired," click the big Subscribe button.
    4. Click on the jukebox.

  4. The EARN CERTIFICATE (Spanish) version is also available. Select either the English or the Spanish course. You only need to select one version of the course.

The NO CERTIFICATE versions (English or Spanish) are for your convenience to review any of lessons as you like sometime in the future.
